Kelley Kelley Johnson 26th April 2011

David was someone I came to know as a huge fan of jazz music and specifically as a wonderfully supportive fan of mine. Our friendship was limited but David went out of his way to connect by letting me know that he admired my work as a jazz singer. I always felt that David "got me" and he made me feel appreciated. There aren't a lot of people in this world who would buy a jazz singer a fake book of tunes by Mulgrew Miller and Hal Galper for no reason whatsoever except that he loved jazz and wanted to share it with my husband and I. My favorite memory is an email exchange we had many years ago about loving to watch birds taking a bird bath in the spring morning light. David had a poet's soul and he noticed the world and people around him. I missed not seeing him when time went by...now...life is so precious. Goodbye David. Thank you for touching my life by being touched by it. Love always, Kelley Johnson
