I first met David when working long hours with him in one of Boeing’s antenna ranges, in support of the Connexion (aka CBB) program. David’s talents and “can do” attitude were essential to our successes. Working with a guy like David under these circumstances, you couldn’t help but become friends. We soon became even better friends, as our work took us overseas to Japan to work with our supplier, Mitsubishi Electric Corp. We worked hard, accomplished a lot, and had some fun a long the way. I got to know David as a genuinely “GOOD” person. A kind man who always put the considerations of others ahead of his own. An interesting person who knew a lot about music, science, cars, etc. A devoted family man, who spoke often of his children, and especially of his wife. In fact, when we would meet new people in Japan, it did not take too long for David to flip out his wallet and show off his picture of his lovely wife Linda. You could just see it in his face, how proud he was of her. Our friendship continued even after we went our separate ways at Boeing. David would often poll a small contingent of engineers to attend a concert (usually jazz), a lecture (usually science), or perhaps try a new pub (always with microbrews). My wife and I would also get together with David and Linda. We have fond memories of attending music events at Tula’s, Jazz Alley, and Woodland Park Zoo tunes. David and Linda were regular attendees at family parties on Lake Burien, where David was coaxed to join the family band at bass guitar. He was hesitant at first - but once he took the stage, ….it was if he was born to be there! David was a really great friend to both my wife and I - a really good person with great values, intellect, a kind and friendly nature, all rounded out with a good sense of humor. David was a person we were so happy to know. We are shocked and saddened by his loss beyond words. We are so thankful to have known him though, and we will cherish his memory. Our hearts go out to Linda, Steven, Phillip and the rest of David’s family – may you find peace in your memories of David. John & Sue Ferguson
