David was born August 12, 1950 and he grew up in West Seattle with 8 brothers and sisters. He attended O’Dea High School and graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Electrical Engineering. David worked as a software engineer at Boeing for 29 years. At Boeing David was instrumental in the technical success of the Connexion program. More recently he worked on the 787 program, where he designed a network analysis tool and received a US patent for his invention. Earlier in his career David developed software at Metawave Communications, Hughes Aircraft and United Technologies. David was a devoted father and spouse; a helpful son, brother and uncle. He was noted for his gentle sense of humor. In his free time he played the piano and guitar, sailed and worked on cars. He was also an avid runner and specialized in 10k races, but he also ran the Seattle Marathon 3 times. David J. Guichard passed away at his home April 16, 2011. His death was due to natural causes. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Shao-Yu Tun, his sons Philip and Steven, 2 sisters, 4 brothers, and 8 nieces and nephews. Mass will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 814 NE 85th St. Seattle, on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow at Holyrood Cemetery, 205 NE 205th Shoreline. The family invites people to David’s home for an Open House from 11:30 AM to 3:00 pm 1814 N 90th St. Seattle.
